Are Carrot Oil, Carrot Seed Oil and Carrot Seed Essential Oil all the same?
No! All of these are different oils. Confused? Let us explain.

- Carrot seed essential oil: This essential oil is produced by distilling seeds of carrot plant (daucus carota sativa). It cannot be used directly on the face; it must be diluted with carrier oil like coconut oil, jojoba oil or olive oil.
- Carrot seed oil: This oil is made by extracting the oil from the seeds of carrot plant through a cold-pressing process.
Our Carrot seed oil is obtained from cold pressed seeds for orange carrot (Daucus carota subsp. sativus)

Benefits Of Carrot Seed Oil
- Helps Improving Mood
Aromatherapy helps in uplifting the mood. Carrot seed oil is widely used in aromatherapy to help relieve symptoms of anxiety, stress, weakness, and fatigue.
- Anti-ageing Properties
Carrot seed oil has perfect anti-aging effects. It is beneficial as a rejuvenator for ageing skin. Combining skin-mending vitamin A, collagen-boosting vitamin C and moisturizing vitamin E, that make carrot seed oil helps smooth lines and repair sun damage, scars and any other skin trauma. Beyond facial care, it’s also used in products aimed at treating stretch marks and scar tissue.
3. Antibacterial Properties
Carrot seed oil has potent antibacterial properties. It inhibits the growth of many harmful bacteria on the skin. The oil targets the bacteria alone and does not cause any damage to the underlying skin.
4. Anti-Inflammatory Properties
Carrot seed oil exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and is soothing to the skin and scalp. It helps in reducing redness, irritation and acne.
- Natural tan accelerator properties
Carrot seed oil has many benefits in addition to accelerating tanning. Because it is rich in beta carotene, vitamins A and E and pro-vitamin A, Carrot seed oil helps to heal and repair dry, chapped and cracked skin, balance the skin moisture, reduce wrinkles and rejuvenate dry and mature skin. Not only is it great for your skin, it is the main active ingredient that makes you tan faster as it is a major building block of melanin. A naturally active tan accelerator, it stimulates your skin to tan better and faster in the sun. Carrot seed oil also has a generous amount of SPF protection to protect your skin from harmful UV rays!
- for hair properties
Carrot seed oil goes right into the hair shaft to repair, strengthen, and moisturize damaged hair. The oil improves blood circulation which may help stimulate hair growth and helps with fragile hair. It conditions the scalp and hair and soothes itchy and irritated scalp conditions. It helps restore luster to dull or damaged hair. Its vitamins (A, B, C, and E, as well as phosphorus and magnesium) may have a protective effect from outdoor damage, like UV rays and environmental pollution, too.
- Encourages hair growth: Carrot oil can help hair grow faster and thicker by stimulating the hair follicle system. With less breakage and split ends, hair will grow stronger and begin to grow back.
- Prevents hair loss and split ends: By boosting blood circulation, carrot oil seals the hair cuticle and strengthens the hair fiber, which prevents hair loss and split ends.
- Maintains moisture levels on the hair and scalp: Conditioning the hair with carrot oil can improve it’s texture, making it shinier, smoother, and softer to the touch.
- Eliminates dandruff and dry scalp: Since carrot oil has a lot of antibacterial properties, it can help protect against a variety of bacteria and fungus (like the ones that cause dandruff). Using naturally occurring oils on your scalp can stimulate the production of your own body’s oil or sebum.
Points To Remember When Using Carrot Seed Oil
- Carrot seed oil is generally considered safe if used externally. With that being said, you should never apply undiluted carrot seed oil to the skin as it may cause redness, rash, and burning sensations.
- Prior to using carrot seed oil, always test the diluted oil on a small patch of skin and wait overnight to see if any reaction is occurring.
